Quiet · Clean · Respect

A quiet place to live in central Kyiv.

You made it. Take a breath. Drop your bag, make some tea, and slow down for a moment. This place is for people who value sleep, order, and quiet neighbours — whether it's for one night or a longer stay.

After 22:00 it gets quiet here. The city rush stays outside.

We built this place for real life in Kyiv — not just a quick stop.

Many hostels in the city centre run on parties and constant turnover. Here it's different: quiet nights, clean mornings, and familiar faces in the kitchen.

Many people arrive for a few nights — and end up staying much longer. It often feels more like sharing an apartment than staying in a typical hostel.

We talk like normal people here — not like staff and guests following scripts.

More than 60% of our guests stay long-term. Not because we persuade them to — but because a quiet, stable home in the centre of Kyiv is hard to leave.

Dja Hostel — corridor
From the owner

I live here myself, so I'm always around if you need anything.

Everything here runs on mutual respect. Be considerate of others and you'll fit right in. Leave the city drama outside the door.

— Victor, owner & neighbour

Not for everyone.
And that's intentional.

You'll feel comfortable here if:

  • You’re in Kyiv to work, study or relocate
  • you value sleep more than nightlife
  • you cook for yourself and want a proper kitchen
  • you treat shared spaces like your own home
  • You’re fine living next to the same people for weeks or months

Probably not the right place if:

  • you're looking for a party hostel
  • you often come home late and loud
  • You smoke indoors or think the corridor is “basically outside”
  • drinking in the room is part of your evening routine
  • You don’t like being asked to respect quiet hours

Three principles

Quiet · Clean · Respect

DJA is a small community where the rules simply help everyone live peacefully together.

🔕
Quiet hours — 22:00–07:00 No loud conversations in common areas. No music. No speakerphone calls. Keep things quiet in the rooms as well.
🚭
No smoking indoors No smoking or vaping inside — rooms, corridors, bathrooms, or windows. Outside only.
🍷
No alcohol or drugs No alcohol, drugs, or being under the influence on the premises. No weapons.
Clean up after yourself Wash your dishes. Wipe the stove. Leave the shower clean and dry. Staff maintain the space — guests help keep it that way between cleanings.

They came for a few nights.
They stayed for months.

Not because we asked them to. But because once you sleep well, feel safe, and settle into a steady rhythm — leaving simply stops making sense.

😴
Proper sleep
No bar noise. No drunk check-ins at 3am. No shouting in corridors. After 22:00 the hostel becomes quiet.
🤝
Familiar faces
Most guests stay for weeks or months. The same people in the kitchen every morning — and soon you stop feeling like a stranger.

"The ideal hostel in Kyiv. Affordable price, warm welcome, very nice and friendly people, great owner. Rooms are clean, fresh linen. Hot water always available. Washer and dryer on-site — if you don't have detergent, they provide it. Fridge space for your food — and no one steals your groceries)) Will happily come back."

"First time staying at a hostel. Nervous at first. But everyone is friendly, especially the owner. I recommend this hostel to a colleague who might stay here in January–February."

Real questions people ask

Can I try for a few nights and then extend?
Yes — that's common here. Many people start with 1–3 nights, get a feel for the place, and then stay for weeks or months.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Usually yes, if a bed is available. Early check-in or late check-out is 50% of the daily rate — just message us in advance.
Are there lockers? What about valuables?
Each bed has its own locker. If you have something valuable, we can store it in the reception safe.
Is it safe to leave things around?
Yes. Each guest has a locker, common areas have CCTV, and most guests know each other.
Can I smoke or drink alcohol here?
Inside the hostel — no smoking and no alcohol. This boundary keeps the place calm for everyone.
How many showers and toilets are there?
One shared shower and one toilet.
Where is the nearest shelter?
In our building — in the courtyard. Zoloti Vorota metro station is also 12 minutes away and can be used as a shelter.

Important to know before check-in

We try to be honest about the space so there are no surprises.

If this format works for you — you'll most likely feel comfortable here.

Text us when you're ready.

No forms. No bots. No automated replies. Just message us on Telegram or call — you'll be speaking with a real person within minutes.

Beds are limited — on purpose. We keep the number of beds small so the atmosphere stays calm and stable.
