How to get here: 14 Sichovykh Striltsiv, next to the Golden Gate

14 Sichovykh Striltsiv Street, Kyiv. This is the centre: the street starts at Lvivska Square, and Zoloti Vorota metro is about 12 minutes on foot.

The address and the point on the map

Full address: 14 Sichovykh Striltsiv Street, Kyiv, 04053, Ukraine.

Open the route in Google Maps before you travel and save it. House numbering in the centre is not always obvious the first time, and the map takes you to the right entrance.

Coordinates, if you would rather type them straight in: 50.4564641, 30.5026416.

The nearest metro

Zoloti Vorota is about 12 minutes on foot. It is on the green line, and it is the station worth remembering: it is also the nearest shelter.

The walk runs through the centre past residential blocks rather than along a highway.

From the central train station

  1. Take the metro at Vokzalna, directly under the station, on the red line.
  2. Ride to the interchange with the green line.
  3. Green line to Zoloti Vorota.
  4. Then about 12 minutes on foot. The route is in Google Maps.

From the central bus station

  1. Demiivska metro, on the blue line, is next to the bus station.
  2. Ride to the interchange with the green line.
  3. Green line to Zoloti Vorota, then walk.

From the airports

From Boryspil: the airport bus to the central train station, then the metro as described above. This is the simplest option at any hour.

From Zhuliany: city transport or a taxi to the nearest metro station, then the same route. Zhuliany is closer to the centre, so the trip is shorter.

Taxis run around the clock, but keep the curfew in mind: movement across the city is restricted at night.

What is nearby

This is the actual centre, not "ten minutes from the centre" in a listing. The Golden Gate, Lvivska Square and the walking routes of the old city are all around you.

Shops, cafés and pharmacies are on the street itself and in the neighbouring blocks. You will not have to go looking.

Central Kyiv is compact: most of what people come for is genuinely walkable from here. And Zoloti Vorota sits on the green line, so both the train station and the left bank are one interchange away.

If it is your first time here

The street used to be called Artema Street, and some directories, older maps and drivers still know it that way. If "Sichovykh Striltsiv" produces a pause, say "formerly Artema" and everything falls into place.

There is no sign on the facade. This is a residential building, not a hotel with its name in neon: go by the house number and the route you saved.

Write to say roughly when you will arrive. Not for the sake of control — so that somebody is definitely there to open the door.

Arriving

Standard check-in is from 13:00 to 22:00. Early check-in from 06:00 is possible by prior arrangement and only if a bed is available. Arrival after 22:00 is possible by prior arrangement.

Write to say roughly when you will arrive and someone will meet you at the entrance.

You can reach a person between 08:00 and 23:00. That is a window when someone answers, not a promise to reply within a minute.

After check-in, you receive a key and can come back at night. Quiet hours are about noise, not a ban on going out.

You can leave your things free of charge at reception for a few hours before check-in or after check-out if you arrange it in advance.

The shelter

The shelter is in the courtyard of our own building, about a minute away. It is open during alerts.

There is a shelter in the building courtyard. An alternative is Zoloti Vorota metro (about 12 minutes on foot).
