Every answer here is something we actually do, not something that looks good in a listing. Where something is missing, we say so plainly instead of reaching for a softer phrase.
It is easier for both sides that way. You understand the format before check-in rather than after, and you do not spend money on a place that does not suit you.
What to know before booking
A hostel means shared living. It is better to understand the format now than discover something important after check-in.
One shower and one toilet for 24 beds
There can be a wait at peak times. We tell you before booking, not afterwards.
There are no private rooms
You book an individual bed in a women’s or men’s room.
No alcohol or smoking inside
This is one of the conditions that keeps the hostel calm.
Everyone cleans up after themselves
Especially in the kitchen. Wash your dishes, wipe the stove, and it is clean for the next person in the morning.
Check-in and check-out
Can I check in early or after 22:00?
Early check-in from 06:00 is possible by prior arrangement and only if a bed is available. Standard check-in is from 13:00 to 22:00. Arrival after 22:00 is possible by prior arrangement.
When is check-out, and can I leave later?
Standard check-out is by 12:00. Late check-out until 14:00 is possible by prior arrangement; when charged, early/late service is 50% of one night.
Can I come back to the hostel at night?
After check-in, you receive a key and can come back at night. Quiet hours are about noise, not a ban on going out.
Can I leave luggage before check-in or after check-out?
You can leave your things free of charge at reception for a few hours before check-in or after check-out if you arrange it in advance.
Rooms and beds
How many people share a room?
The women’s rooms have 4 beds each, and the men’s rooms have 8. There are no private rooms.
Do women and men stay separately?
Yes. Two rooms are for women only, and men do not enter them. The other two rooms are for men only.
What are the beds and mattresses like?
The beds are wooden and the mattresses are orthopedic. Every bed has a power socket, a locker and personal storage. Reception provides the locker key.
Daily life and amenities
How many showers and toilets are there?
One shared shower and one toilet. There can be a wait at peak times.
Can I cook?
The kitchen is clean, the stove is wiped, and shared areas are left in order: everyone tidies up after themselves. A small thing that makes this a home. Tea and coffee are free; fridge shelves are available for guest food.
Is it warm in winter, and is there hot water?
The hostel has central heating in winter. A boiler supplies hot water around the clock — no schedule and no waiting.
What is included, and how much does laundry cost?
Bed linen, towels, slippers, the shared kitchen, Wi-Fi and air conditioning in every room are included in the stay. The washer and dryer cost 100 UAH, detergent included.
Cleanliness
What do you do to prevent bed bugs?
The rooms, kitchen and bathroom are cleaned every day. Bed linen is changed after every guest and once a week during a longer stay. Linen is washed at 60 °C with professional detergents. Preventive pest treatment is arranged every 3 months. If you notice something, tell Victor personally.
Payment and length of stay
How do I pay for the stay?
Pay in cash in UAH or by bank transfer. There is no online payment on the website. No deposit is required. No prepayment is required.
Can I stay for a few nights and then extend?
Want to stay longer? Not a problem, as long as the bed is still free for the new dates. The total is recalculated for the new full stay length.
Rules and safety
Is it really quiet at night?
Yes, and it is not just a rule on paper. From 22:00 to 07:00, there is no music, loud conversation or speakerphone use.
Pets, children, visitors, documents?
Pets are not allowed. Independent stay from age 18. Visitors until 22:00, common areas only. Passport or national ID is required at check-in.
Is there a shelter nearby?
There is a shelter in the building courtyard. An alternative is Zoloti Vorota metro (about 12 minutes on foot).
Do you speak English?
The staff can communicate in English.
One more thing worth knowing
You book an individual bed in a shared women’s or men’s room. There are no private rooms and no ensuite bathrooms.
A direct booking starts with dates. The system checks beds and returns the exact total before asking for contact details. If the required option is unavailable, it does not suggest a replacement that does not actually exist. Prices are per bed; the same length-of-stay grid applies to every room.
